In recent years the modern thought process of marketing teams has been to hoodwink the average consumer by reducing their product size by a small fraction hoping that will not notice. This way prices can either remain the same or be increased to capture the slightly higher profit margins on their products. This exposes the lack of ingenuity which has left well to do thriving organizations with no better solution than to stoop low to deceive the consumer and hoping they will not notice. They are correct as the average consumer will not notice such a small change and allows the company to get away with it.
