 School Tragedy, Gun Control and Protecting Soft Targets.

 Why We're Still Arguing About Gun Control


Americans are hurting because the recent school tragedy has re-invoked the painful memories from other similar attacks on out innocent unarmed loved ones.

It drives a greater need to do something to stop such future events. However we need to get to it's root cause and not just treat the symptoms in our haste and desire to do something about it. 

The root cause to address being, how to stop the would be criminal attacks on our unprotected citizens. The criminals have always chosen soft targets such as schools, synagogue, theaters, libraries etc., where they know there will be sitting duck victims with no protection and they will encounter no resistance to carry out their carnage  with maximum damage. This will continue until law enforcement shows up with their weapons to put an end to this madness.

Without providing equal and sufficient protection to our soft target locations, they remain at  risk of begin attacked by another deranged mad person with an evil agenda. 
 
 
Our airplanes had been soft targets for terrorist to hijack at will. But not anymore since the security authority started putting  armed unmarked Marshalls on them to protect the defenseless passengers. This seems to have largely solved the hijack nuisance.

Similar actions need to be taken to protect other soft targets where volunteers should yield arms to become saviors of many innocent people who can otherwise become victims at such soft targets. Eliminate all soft targets and let it be known that there will be resistance to any intention of attacks on them.

*A hard problem to solve*
Controlling good people who follow the laws already will not provide a solution, because gun control will only apply to law abiding citizens. Criminals will find ways to break all rules and get weapons illegally and continue to commit crimes. Then what? 🤔

Still we all agree that some common sense laws need to be put in place to minimize the easy  availability of weapons to would-be-criminals. 

Age limit of gun ownership could be raised with background checks and weapon tracking  to minimize sale to minors and felons. Hopefully it will help curb and minimize senseless crime.

Just in my humble  opinion based on information from the many attacks in USA and the circumstances why they occurred.
